With the new digital TV conversion, all new digital and old analog (with a converter box) televisions will require an digital antenna in order to receive the new UHF digital signals. As most digital TV stations broadcast HD programming, it's the cheapest way of receiving the most free HD digital programming for your HDTV, compare to paying monthly fee to the cable station or satellite (same basic stations).
